bright eyes

Just a quick post of updates,
I did my own DIY slashed(?) pair of leggings last night using my matte leggings that i hadnt been wearing due to a little fade and wear but I'm really pleased at how they turned out. I just measured out and marked the lines where i wanted the cuts and snip snip they were done. Let me know if any of you make some and how they turned out in comments. On friday night I went to my schools "design and good food" show, it was pretty good and some of the clothing designs showcased from my year were very impressive, I havent done an outfit post in a while, so this is what i wore.

  • My new Lee Licks jeans, (and no I didnt end up getting the plan black ones because they weren't in stock so I opted for the ripped black jeans and forked out an extra $20 for them, but i'm extremely in love with them)
  • Plain white low black flowing singlet
  • Mum's vintage leather jacket
  • Boots
  • Plaid red navyblue and white scarf (not pictured)

I am also in extreme need of a hair cut ASAP, so I've booked to see my hair dresser on Wednesday, and hopefully coming out with a fringe somewhat similar to Taylor Momsen's, but I would never cut my hair that short. Its quite funny how Taylor is only a year younger than me, yet she wears so much makeup. Although I cant talk about wearing a lot of makeup, because I do myself, but what she wears I believe is really over the top for someone who is still a teenager. She looks like an aged woman here, thats just my opinion though.

I though I'd leave you with some images of my favourite model of the moment.
Her name is Hannah Glasby and I think she is the cutest thing ever !

Parlez Vous Francais

Haven't posted anything in a while, and having a quiet night in tonight before the extreme busy that I'll be experiencing all tomorrow thought I'd make a post to make up for the lack before i put it off again. I've also just finished my load of assignments for another few weeks, which is very exciting to have a substantial amount of freedom for a while.
Currently I have a fairly large obsession with Carine Roitfeld, If you dont know who she is Google asap! She is the editor in chief at Paris Vogue and absolutely amazing; not only for her ability to style beautifully but she has an aura that makes everybody want to be around her. I recently watched a 3 part mini series that CNN did on her, its on
Youtube and this is the first to the series. It shows a great insight into the extravagent Paris fashion world. Oh I wish I could be there :( I also tried going on the Paris Vogue's website but had much difficulty navigating my way throughout it seeing as I dont speak any french at all (..regret)
Well its refusing to let me upload the first video so heres the link instead:

Carine Roitfeld CNN Revealed Pt 1

Here are also some examples of the editorials from Vogue that she has done the styling for. The rare elegence and beautifully thought out photographs do make her stand out from the rest.

There hasn't really been much happening, just the extreme cold has taken over all of a sudden and i'm not really adjusting yet. BUT THAT MEANS! end of financial year sales, veryveryvery excited to spend too much money ahaaa.
AND I WANT A SUBSCRIPTION TO RUSSIA AND PARIS VOGUE PLEASEPLEASEPLEASEPLEASE
But i'm too broke right now and trying to save for my PARKLIFE tix, and doubt that they would even ship here. Since I never talk about music or food much, and seeing as this is also a music and food blog I thought i'd put in my two cents and share with you a few of my favorites for music for this post, I haven't been out to eat much lately so I dont have anything to really report in that area but in the coming weeks there shall be installments.
MUSIC
I've currently listening to a lot of The Rapture nameingly the album "Echoes". The Rapture comes across as a wide variety of things, but probably more along the lines between 80's NY art-punk and a combo of house and progressive rock, yes it all sounds a little weird and its not for everyones taste but i love it. Also to Art Vs Science; they are are three piece from Sydney (wooo) that make "1980's inspired indie pop. That said, its more of an art school 1980's sound than anything Van She or Midnight Juggernauts do". They have already been nominated for a J Award and are a great new band to check out. Triple J plays the shit out of them, and good on them- with the radio station being the one of the sole reason's of the almost overnight success of the band. My favourite tracks atm are Flippers, and the title of this post Parlez Vous Francias?
Also getting back into Bloc Party and Foals lately, check out all these bands, excellent for the ears.

heel down.

! I recieved my first Ebay package today, very exciting. As I've said before, I really wanted those suade acne pumps but as reality kicked in it was never going to happen so as i was browsing Ebay a few weeks ago I came across this online shoe store running via the website. So I checked their stock and my luck they had the perfect pair of affordable patent leather pumps- very exciting :D Although mum was reluctant to let me buy shoes of Ebay (incase they didnt fit) I pursuaded her ...yet again, I seem to have very good skills in this to let me buy them. They fit perfectly, so very happy.
But I'll be doing some DIY work on them, got my markers out and am about to start colouring the silver bits in black

I also had parent+teacher interviews for school on Tuesday, wasnt really anything out of the ordinary. They basically say the same thing every year, and I also got my half yearly report- did quite prettyyy well so im happy about. After I went to American Apparel in the city, that store is so hard to navigate around, i was planning to choose something in the store so I can buy it online (i have a 30% off thing for online store) but I couldnt find anything that I had picked out in the online store. Not happy.
This is what I wore to the interviews:

  • Black leotard w/ zippers
  • Black Dress on top
  • Stockings
  • Blue/Grey new vest
  • Navy blue leather bag
  • Boots

I dont really have anymore news at the moment, but i'm very excited for the long weekend. I'm planning to get alot done, including getting cracking on my major work for art this term- eeekk!
These are some great photo's of Alexander Wang and his studio, I reallyreallyreally want that sofa, even though I have no where to put it. Everything is so clean and crisp aswell, highly jealous.
